MOBILE TWELFTH NIGHT’S PERCUSSIONIST JON SELIGMAN ON WTMD
“If Music Be the Food of Life Play On” —Twelfth Night
Meet percussionist Jon Seligman, our Mobile Unit Musician, as he sits down with WTMD to discuss Daniel Bryant’s Twelfth Night. Hear his take on the BCS Mobile Unit as well a sampling of the sounds he created for this production, including the riqq, an Arabic tambourine.
“We go out to communities that perhaps are underserved in terms of arts and we bring art to them, we bring theater to them,” explained John.
Over the past few weeks, The Mobile Unit production of Twelfth Night has been bringing theater to audiences including the Maryland Correctional Institution, the Boy and Girls Clubs, as well as shelters and senior centers. While these performances are not open to the public, this production comes home to Baltimore for five performances.
“I think your listeners would really enjoy it. It’s a small cast. You as an audience member are right there. There’s no amplification, there’s no pre-recorded anything. It’s all produced as you see it, by us,” he said.
